The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) is here!

It is a government-funded dental care program designed to support low-income seniors with free, routine dental care. Dentures are partially covered.

The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program: eligibility and coverage

If you are an Ontario resident of 65 years or older, having no other form of dental benefits, and having an annual net income of $19,300 or less for a single senior or $32,300 or less for a couple, you are eligible for free dental services, including the following:

  • check-ups, including scaling, fluoride and polishing
  • repairing broken teeth and cavities
  • x-rays
  • removing teeth or abnormal tissue (oral surgery)
  • anesthesia
  • treating infection and pain (endodontic services)
  • treating gum conditions and diseases (periodontal services)

The Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program: coverage period

The coverage period is one year. It will end on July 31st every year, no matter when you enroll.

Every year, eligibility will be automatically verified for most clients to confirm enrolment for the next benefit period.

You will be notified by mail if you are eligible to keep participating in the program, or about how to re-apply to the program, if required.

You can apply online or by mail. Your local public health unit can also help you apply to the program.

What you need to apply: Before applying, you need to have your Social Insurance Number (SIN) or Temporary Taxation Number (TTN), your income tax for the last year, and a valid Ontario address.

If you apply online, you need to complete the online application, Print and fill out the consent form, mail the completed consent form within 30 days to:

If you apply by mail, you need to download and print the application form, or get one in person from your local public health unit, fill out and complete the application form and mail it to:

If your application is approved, you will receive a welcome package with important information and your dental card in the mail that will expire on July 31st. You must present your card to your dental provider at each visit to receive services under the program.
