Hiring incentives for employers - Ontario New Youth Jobs Strategy

Ontario has developed a new Youth Jobs Strategy. There is a list of hiring incentives for employers that include tax credits and funding for businesses, not-for-profits and public sector organizations.

Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit

How to get a tax credit if you hire and train apprentices in certain skilled trades.

Catapult Microloan Fund

Get a microloan to fund your social enterprise. If your business solves a social, environmental, cultural or economic problem, you could receive a loan of $5,000-$25,000.

Employer Hiring Incentive

Get money to help pay for training and job placements. Up to $6800 available to help you hire and train young people for a career.

Ontario Co-Operative Education Tax Credit

Get a tax credit when you hire co-op students. A maximum credit of $3,000 is available for co-op employees who work between 10 weeks-4 months.

Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program

Get co-op placements in high school to learn a trade. If you are a full-time high school student (Grade 11) and at least 16 years old, you can work towards a career in the skilled trades.
